The state of this building left much to be desired when we became the proud owners of it! It was a farm-worker’s cottage, a basic two-up/two down, with a ‘lean-to’ containing a kitchen sink and no other amenities.
As you can see, we did a lot of work to it, and created a terraced garden with meandering paths to the top of the ‘pit’; the cottage being sited at the bottom of the worked-out chalk pit.
