Nelson's Stable

We named this property in memory of the last cart-horse to live there!

Nothing at all had been done to the building since Nelson moved out - we could have done with his help when work commenced, as demolishing his stall was very hard work.

We stripped the building by sections down to the original brick plinth and rebuilt it as the original; retaining all the original beams - which made installing stairs a tricky job.

The front entrance door opens into a large kitchen/dining room, with terracotta flooring; a small passage off which is a bathroom and a small bedroom/study, leading to a large sitting room with a raised floor to the rear. Up to the mezzanine floor, which overlooks the main original beam as a gallery, this floor forms the main bedroom together with a ‘wet room’.
